Westminster International University in Tashkent is proud to be part of the nationwide “Yangi Oʻzbekiston talabalar Olimpiadasi” — a major student sports initiative that has officially kicked off across the country.
This nationwide Olympiad, held in three stages from April to June, unites students from higher education institutions across Uzbekistan, promoting a healthy lifestyle and strengthening the culture of mass sport.
The tournament at WIUT was officially opened by the Rector of WIUT, Komiljon Karimov, who emphasised the importance of student engagement in sport as a key part of personal development and university life. He noted that participation in sport fosters discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and wished all students success in the competition.
At WIUT, the tournament has brought together our vibrant student community through a series of exciting competitions, including volleyball, basketball, and table tennis. As a university that values holistic development, WIUT places strong emphasis on sport as a key pillar of student experience. Through initiatives like this, we encourage our students to stay active, build resilience, and develop leadership skills beyond the classroom.
