Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) took part in the International Symposium, “Thailand and Central Asia: Forging Sustainable Connectivity and New Partnerships in a Dynamic Eurasia”, held from 28 April to 1 May 2026 at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok.
The event brought together academics, policymakers and institutional leaders to discuss regional connectivity, trade and cooperation across Eurasia. WIUT was represented by Rector Dr Komiljon Karimov, who presented on Central Asia–ASEAN connectivity, and Alisher Pulatov, Dean of SOLTE, who highlighted Uzbekistan’s role as a civilisational crossroads.
The event also marked the official launch of the Central Asia Studies Center (CASC) at Chulalongkorn University, positioning it as a key platform for advancing regional expertise and partnerships.
A key outcome of the symposium was the signing of a five-year Memorandum of Understanding between WIUT and Chulalongkorn University, paving the way for student and staff exchanges, joint events, collaborative research and wider institutional partnership.
WIUT’s participation reinforces its position as a leading academic voice from Central Asia in shaping regional dialogue on connectivity, governance, and sustainable partnerships.
