Session for BIS students

Westminster International University in Tashkent was delighted to invite Eileen Brewer, TechWomen mentor to conduct a Pitch Session for final year BIS students. Eileen Brewer is an Angel Investor at Golden Seeds, a Global Consultant on Cybersecurity and mentors many startups in Silicon Valley. She has work experience at companies including Panasonic, Rockwell Collins, McAfee and Symantec.

In the first part of the session, Eileen delivered a presentation on professional prospects in Data Science in Silicon Valley and sector skills demands, as well as advice on how to pitch a business idea. A number of projects, including TechGirls, TechWomen and Technovation Girls, were highlighted by the speaker as supporting women’s activity in Data Science. In the second part of the session, students pitched their own business models, based on their graduation projects, and received feedback.
